Through its special Energy and Utility Division EFLA provides consulting about power concerns in connection with the production and distribution of electricity and content provision, together with various kinds of utlities. Four subsidiaries, one each in France (Hecla), Polland (Ispol), Turkey (Turkison) and Norway (Linuhönnun), come under this division and each provides these services within the power sector of each country. In addition the division works closely with the subsidiary Addison in Russia.

The division has about 30 employees in Iceland and about 40 work in the subsidiaries abroad. They have completed projects in over 30 countries.

The division specialises in wide-ranging engineering projects in power and utilities, while at the same time utilising the services of other divisions such as in environmental concerns, geotechnical engineering, surveying, design of power plants and project management.
